SSL certificate checker

Find out when your site's certificate expires and whether browsers trust it. A certificate can have months left and still throw a full-page warning if it's for the wrong hostname or the chain is incomplete.

What the words mean

Certificate (SSL)
Your site's ID card. Browsers read it before they open a secure connection, and warn visitors if they don't accept it.
TLS
The secure connection a certificate is used for. People often call it SSL.
Expired
The certificate is past its end date. Browsers warn visitors even if nothing else changed.
Not trusted
Browsers refuse the certificate even if its date is fine. It may be for a different address, or be missing a part.

How this works

We connect to your site once, the way a browser does, and read the certificate it presents. We flag anything with 21 days or fewer left, and anything a browser would refuse.

Most certificates renew by themselves, but that can stop working without anyone being told. If yours is close to its end date, ask whoever manages it to check its renewal settings.

What it can't tell you

One connection from one location. If your site sits behind a CDN (a service that delivers it from its own servers), you're seeing the CDN's certificate, not the one on your own server.
